A week long horse & rider development program is designed for any horse owner who wants to improve their connection and communication with their horse or horses. You will learn round penning techniques that create communication through body language, groundwork, performance riding, trailer loading and so much more. We will address specific "problems or issues" as needed. Each week will obviously be customized somewhat to the participants needs and levels, but everyone will be able to go home with a renewed awareness of their relationship with their equine partner and improved skills. Your tool belt will have new tools that you can pull out if and when the situation requires them. You will learn what to do IF your horse does "X". You will also learn to "play with a purpose" with your horse.
Vacations are great, but a learning vacation with your horse can be invaluable! When have you spent 5 full days with your horse? You may find that after one week you have a completely different (better or more consistent) horse. Sign up today for an inspirational and motivational experience! $625
Anyone can come with a horse, pony, mule etc whether you own it or borrow it. We request no stallions in the group classes just to err on the safe side. That is better left to a private session. If a child under 18 attends, a parent will need to be on premise with them. Horses must have current health certificates or proof of current vaccinations and a current NEGATIVE COGGINS. They must be in good health.
Horse & Rider Development Programs also make great couples vacations or sister/ sister, brother & brother, mom & daughter etc!
Apprenticeships will typically be Saturday-Wednesday, Wednesday-Sunday or Monday-Friday whichever may suit the facility best with arrival on the day prior and departure after 4 on last day.
Cost is $625 per person. Minimum of 5 particpants with 2 clinicians. If a week does not fill to at least 5, we may ask if you can reschedule.
Horses will stay on premise (this may be an extra fee and is determined by the host farm.) Camping or Local Hotels/ Bed & Breakfasts are available for your accomodations (again, an additional fee.) You are required to bring all of your feed, hay, bedding, supplies, buckets, tack, notebook, and so forth. We also recommend that you bring the bit you currently use and a full cheek snaffle bit and protective leg boots for your horse.
If you would like to host a clinic, you may attend it free. We require that there are accomodations for participant's horses (may be an extra cost separate from clinic cost,) nearby or on-premise accomodations for particpants, a round pen if possible, a safe/ large riding arena (indoor preferred for weather, but outdoor fine.) On-premise trails a plus! We do not pay any arena fee or accomodation fees ourselves in exchange for your free place in the clinic.
